Give Thanks

Hi my crafty friends!  Who's ready for Thanksgiving???  I've decided that Thanksgiving must be my turkeys least favorite holiday!  I have a little card to share tonite.  I was inspired by the following challenges:

The Shabby Tea Room 89:

Ribbon Carousel Challenge:

The Play Date Cafe Challenge:

And here is my card:

Normally I never stamp a scene, but I went a little crazy with my new Papertrey Ink Stamp Set - Door to Door.  I colored my scene with Copics.  My cardstock and patterned paper is PTI.  My seam binding and ribbon is Etsy.  And the cute pin is from Maya Road.  I inked the edges of my card with Martha Stewart copper and chocolate ink.  I'm not the best with my Copics, but it's sure fun playing with them!

Just want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving from my little corner of the world:

Enjoy!!!

A Challenge or Two

Have a fun sketch challenge to share with you tonite from The Sampler Kit Club.  This month's kit - Seasonal Sweets - is super adorable.  Take a look:

Such a great kit!  And here is this month's sketch:

Here's my layout:

THis is Delilah, our overweight miniature horse.  She hit the jackpot when we bought her, so I thought making a "bingo" LO was fitting.  She's standing in the shadows here and I love that her little ears and whiskers are also shadowed.  The Seasonal Sweets kit has several sheets of fabulous Core'dinations cardstock and custom yo-yo's that I loved playing with.

The winner of this month's sketch challenge will receive a complete Sampler Kit!  To enter the challenge, simply upload your take on the sketch to The Sampler's Flickr Group.  And visit The Sampler's Kit Club Blog to check out more details on this month's kit.

Up next is this week's challenge at Made Especially For You.  This week we are challenging you to make a Thanksgiving themed project.  This week's Sponsor is My Grafico and they are giving away a beautiful Autumn/Thanksgiving Clipart Set.  Now for my LO:

I've shared this LO with you before.  It was last year at my Papaw's house on Thanksgiving.  I used Pink Paislee and Crate Paper goodies, painted the edges of my paper, and made my journaling the focus.  Visit Made Especially For You to see the Design Teams take on this week's challenge.

Seasonal Sweets

Hi all!  Got a little card I made today using goodies from the November Sampler Kit - Seasonal Sweets.  Take a look at  this adorable kit:

This kit is amazing. Full of unique bits and pieces to make any creation amazing.  Now on to my little card.  I'm entering it in this week's RiIbbon Carousel Challenge 29:

I'm also entering it in the Moxie Fab World's Celebrating Hobbies Challenge.  I made this little card with a book lover in mind.  What better way to say "thanks" than a library card holder!

This was so fun to make.  All of my goodies are from Seasonal Sweets.  Visit The Sampler Kit Club Blog , where they're having a great giveaway...who doesn't love freebies!

I adore reading so this little card is a great way to say thanks for a book, a Kindle, Amazon gift card, etc.  And speaking of reading, who's going to watch Breaking Dawn???  So VERY excited, can't wait!

I've got to send a big THANK YOU to The Ribbon Reel Challenge.  They picked me as their winner for Challenge 14.  I got a gift voucher to their amazing store and had a blast shopping.  Thanks girls!!!

Enjoy!!!

The Exploding Box

Hi all!  Time for a new challenge at Made Especially For You.  This week you're in for a real challenge - make an exploding box.  OK so when I first heard this challenge I thought, no way I can make that!  I never get measurments right, always leave an inch off here and there...and paper projects like these usually end up in the garbage.  But I was persistant and LOVE the end result. This week our Sponsor is:

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff is giving one winner an exploding box ornament kit!  Visit Lindsay's Stamp Stuff at My Grafico to check out all of her great digi goodies.  Now for my exploding box.  I followed this tutorial at A Cherry On Top and here's what I created:

I used lots of pretty patterned papers to decorate my box.  My stamps are Inspired By Stamping - Winter Wonderland.  I made my flowers and leaves from fabric scraps.

The inside of my box is a mix and matach of different papers, brown bags, fabric, library cards and pockets.  I plan to fill my box with pictures from this Christmas after the holidays.

To make the flowers I simply swirled pieces of fabric, twisting it around my finger and stitching it to hold the shape.

I stamped different colored snowflakes everywhere.  I used Stickles on the biggest snowflake to add some sparkle.  My leaves are also fabric and I used glue dots to adhere the leaves to the flowers.

Thanks for visiting!  Visit Made Especially For You to see the Design Teams exploding boxes.  You're sure to find plenty of inspiration!

Let It Snow

Hi guys!  Thanks to all who voted for me in the Practical Scrappers Card Making Contest - I made it to the Top 5, which is good when you think I started out in a group of 40.  Congrats to the girls who made it in the Top 3!  And I've got to announce the winner of the MyMemories Giveaway - Janet!  I emailed you.

Now that I've got all my business taken care of, hehe....I can show you some of my latest cards.  As you know I'm now on the Inspired By Stamping Design Team and Joanna designs the most incredible stamps.  You've got to visit her blog and see all the tutorials and inspiration there!  Amazing.  I've been playing with her stamp set Winter Wonderland and I love it!  Visit the Inspired by Stamping Shop to see all of her stamps.

Here's my first card.  I'm entering it in the following challenges:
1. Really Reasonable Ribbon #35
2. Winter Wonderland Challenge - Make your card sparkle.
3. Jelly Park - Non traditional Christmas colors challenge.

For this card I used small snowflakes and stamped them the same color as my paper.  I then added touches of Stickles to make my snowflakes sparkle.  My silver snowflakes are K and Co. and my lace is Really Reasonable Ribbon

My next card is for the following challenges:
1. A Gem of a Challenge 33 - Cold and Frosty
2. Digi Doodle Shop Challenge 81
3. The Paper Shelter Challenge 38 - Christmas Fun

Decided to go all vintage on this one and I tried a technique.  I took a paper towel (a sponge would have been easier, but I had paper towels on hand!) and sponged white ink onto the areas of the card I wanted to stamp with snowflakes.  I then let the white ink dry and stamped those areas with the snowflakes in darker ink.  My musical paper, candy cane, ribbon and bell are all Etsy.

And last but not least, this little card.
1. Paperminutes - Blue & White
2. Stamp Insanity Challenge 79 - Chill Out

I simply stamped my white snowflakes onto dark cardstock.  I then traced areas of my snowflakes with Stickles.  Easy as can be!

So there you have it, one stamp set with 3 different cards and completely different looks.  I've gotta tell you, the pink one is my favorite.  Who wouldn't like checking their mail and getting a pink "snowy" card!

Enjoy!!!

Southern Girls Challenge 31

~Click here to enter my latest contest.~

Hi all!  Today is my first challenge as a Southern Girl and I'm so excited!  Challenge 31 is to create a project that has a song as the theme.  I thought long and hard about this one....and I came up with...WILD THING!

My baby Jake truly is a "Wild Thing" in every way possible.  He's a 15 lb bully who hates chickens, ducks, all foul (mind you I live on a farm!).  He's got the attitude of a pit bull, but loves being called "baby".  He's my little man and I love him dearly.

These are some pictures I had from 2010 that I hadn't gotten around to scrapping.  The middle picture of Jake in action is blurry, but that's what's great about scrapbooking...it doesn't matter : )  Visit the Southern Girls to see the design teams takes on this challenge and which songs they picked.  And play along for your chance at a great prize!
